The George Watkins Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a dedicated group of parents, guardians, grandparents, and GWES staff who work hand-in-hand to support our school and community. Together, we share one mission: to create the best possible learning environment for our students and to make George Watkins Elementary a place where children, teachers, and families thrive.
Our PTO focuses on enhancing the overall educational experience by providing support in many different ways. Through fundraising events such as spirit nights, school festivals, book fairs, and family activities, we are able to raise funds that go directly back into our school. These funds help provide classroom supplies, playground improvements, new technology, staff appreciation, and additional resources that benefit every student.
Beyond fundraising, we are committed to enriching our students’ education. The PTO helps sponsor special programs, guest speakers, events, and other hands-on learning opportunities that broaden our students’ experiences and spark creativity. These activities make learning more engaging and fun.
Supporting our teachers and staff is another major part of our mission. From staff appreciation weeks to "Faculty Friday" treats, recognition events, and classroom grants, we work to show our teachers and staff how valued they are. A happy and supported staff means a stronger learning environment for our children.
Most importantly, the PTO is about building community. We bring families, teachers, and administrators together to create a strong network of support for our students. Whether it’s organizing events, volunteering time, donating items or funds, or simply offering encouragement, every effort strengthens our school family and makes GWES an even better place.
Meetings are open to everyone in the GWES community, and we encourage all voices to be heard. Whether you can volunteer once a year or once a week, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can continue to support our children, our teachers, and our school.
We do not charge any membership fees or dues and would love to have everyone join us to make GWES a better place.

Meeting dates are subject to change if there is a conflict with a school event or for weather related events.
